Random Updates

I'll be flying to KK tomorrow morning. Woohoo! This trip round will be more of an adventure trip than shopping definitely.

I watched Drag Me To Hell today with DD, JW and C. Not like i like horror movie but after karaoke we couldnt decide what to do next so we just thought of catching a movie and the only movie available at that time was that movie. It's pretty scary ok the movie and i knew i screamed but what to do.. my vocal cord will automatically produced a scream whenever i'm shocked. According to the guys, the movie had a very good ending so if u r a fan of horror, then u shd catch it. At least the storyline is not lame.

So before i go MIA for another 1 week, let me just update a lil about my Project 365*. During the exam period, my Project 365* was on hiatus too. And now it is resume. See, at least i still 'semangatly' continue it. :p

This was the beginning of my Watsons You Awards Season 2 journey. Went down to KL for the interview 3 weeks b4 exam.

Tried this at Fong Lye, the Taiwanese restaurant at The Gardens. This bowl of peanut shaven ice is simply heavenly. The best shave ice i had ever tried so far. So freaking yummy.

2 weeks b4 exam, i had to go down KL again due to part 2 of the Watsons challenge. This time, we were supposed to be promoting products and create brand awareness. We even bought cat ears and halo in hope that we can attract more ppl.

After coming back to KT, i realized i only had 13 days to fin everything i had learn in the past sem And these books are just a tiny weeny bit of the amount im supposed to be reading. Thats when panic kicks in.

Bought these 6 lovely Uhuhu from The Loaf at Pavilion. These are actually cheesecakes but goodness, they are so fluffy that they melts straight in the mouth. Left row from the furthermost top : caramel, strawberry and blueberry uhuhu. Right row from furthermost top : Mango, Vanilla (i think) and chocolate Uhuhu.

Headline that caught my attention

Even in the midst of the panic, i cant resist destressment shopping. Bought this at the Adidas warehouse sale in KT. Not that bad huh KT warehouse sale.

I studied till i wna explode dy so i took out my keychains and 'play' with them. Tigger is from Tokyo Disneyland and he cost me, guess how much? Penguin is from Aussie. If only in the real world, tigers and penguins can be such good friends.

The day i progressed to O & G, i was left with only 3 days to exam.

My lunch. Hashbrowns yeap. But somehow all the supermarket hashbrowns dont taste as good as the ones i ate during my high school. Or more specifically, those fried by Joycie. Joycie, Joycie, i miss ur hashbrowns. ;p

Our very first photo sticker. hahaha..

Thats all. I will be back with all KK updates. Wna noe if we make it to the top of the tallest mountain in Malaysia and 5th tallest in SEA? Continue reading my blog to find out. hehe. :D

Till then, happy Holidays to all those having holis now and lets meet up friends!

Transformers Rocks

I finally watched Transformers 2 Revenge of the Fallen today! Yay! I absolutely love the movie. I hate the ugly Decepticons and i cant believe Megatron can be selling for over RM 200 for a 50 cm height figurine. I mean if it was me, i will just buy all the Autobots and leave all the ugly Decepticons out. Even if it is 2 and half hours long, every single minute kept me awake and excited. Definitely must watch. Even if you dont like robots, the movie is funny also. And after watching im pretty sure you'll be impressed. At the very least, you will never fall asleep watching. :)
B4 i end my post, included the theme song mtv by Linkin Park. Linkin Park had sang both Transformers theme song. Enjoy :)

Killer Cases to End Exam

Finally finished exam today. Finally had time to update my blog properly that i don't even know where to start anymore. It had been an extremely stressful one week, i was not able to sleep properly and i was sometimes not able to eat properly as well. 3rd yr passed just like that. So quickly as well. One yr in KT living side by side the beach and the disgusting molds and not seen any turtles yet in turtle land.

When i first started 3rd year, i always hear our seniors saying that short cases are killers especially medical-base short cases and i always wonder how 'killer' can it be. Today i finally understood what they meant.

I got a surgical base case yesterday for my long case which means i had 2 medical-base case for my short cases today. The worse of the 2 combination.

Among the 3 surgical-base subjects, i dislike orthopedics the most. I studied that the least and i always felt that it was so boring studying ortho. I find O & G and Surgery so much more interesting. But, i also had the gut feeling that i will definitely get the subject that i like least. I dno why but it's just my fate or my luck. I am bounded to always stick around with things i don't like. It's like the more i dont like smt, the more i will get that thing.

So, can imagine when i knew that i had an Ortho case yesterday, my heart went into my throat. Luckily i still had some time going through some last min ortho stuff and at least i can still survive the diabetic foot. (yeap, my case was diabetic foot ulcer).

Then, you might think that since i already knew that i'm gna get medical-base case today, it shd be easier right? Fat NO. Medical-base has such a huge huge range to cover that it's almost choking even trying to cover that few main fav, common cases. Although i had heard time and again that medical base short cases are the main killers in exam and it's almost so easy to fail, but i told myself repeatedly not to worry. Cz i had done the CVS, respi and GIT so many times that even if i cant come up with the diagnosis, at least if i get my physical examination steps right, i will still get some marks and be able to pass. I told myself not to worry too much and i told myself it will be the common cases. After all, isn't that what all the lecturers always said? Only the common cases will come out.

Another night of not so quality sleep. I arrived at the outpatient clinic at 8 am and waited almost 3 hours b4 it was my turn. The wait was so long. i could feel my heart palpitating and a headache building as the tension mounts. I cant help got worried what if they put an uncommon case instead?

Finally, it was my turn. I went in and saw Dr. Z and Dato J. My heart did a flip flop already. I was asked to examine the CVS of the patient. And of all the cardiac cases that i had read (eg all valvular heart diseases, congenital heart diseases, cardiac failure, IE and rheumatic fever), my case is a case of prosthetic heart valve. I dno how many ppl in yr 3 will actually read about prosthetic heart valve or know inside out about it, but im certainly not the one who read about it. It's like i only glance through this word in Talleys and i was like wow, so many types of valves, we are gna have a more difficult time in yr 4 and lo and behold, i haven even go to yr 4 and i already got a case. Prosthetic heart valve is not even in our syllabus for this yr. We never had a lecture on prosthetic heart valves (or did it come under somewhere with only 1 or 2 slide) and more so came across a patient with prosthetic heart valve in our bst. I don't even know what type of murmur to elicit, how to differentiate a mitral from aortic valve, their indications and the only thing i can elicit is a click. At last Dr. Z told me that this case was indeed not a ques of my level and i was like then y of all cases i'll be so fortunate to get it. In fact i think im the only one who got it. Why don't i get case like Down Syndrome or Nephrotic syndrome instead.

Next case was thalassemia. Examination was ok but discussion was totally not ok. No, actually examination wasn't so ok either. But really, i was just so so so disappointed with myself at the end of the exam. I truly understood how short cases can kill you.

But, after a while, i decided not to dwell in it anymore. Some ppl are lucky to get very simple cases and some ppl are very unfortunate to get difficult cases like mine, scleroderma or myeloproliferative disorder. And basically, medical base kills twice the rate and severity than surgical base.

I had done whatever i can, and i will just enjoy my whole holiday and concentrate on my Watsons challenge. I came home after lunch, cleaned my room and pack my clothes. Now all my books are neat and tidy and i'm all ready to go back home.

While i was packing my heels to bring back, guess what? I found molds growing on my pair of Oxford. So disgusting. These molds are incorrigible. They grow everywhere!! Yucks yucks!!

See the whitish spots? thats the molds!! Disgusting ok? Imagine them growing eveywhere on all ur stuff as long as there is no dehumidifier. And damaging all ur beloved items.

I have an early morning flight to catch 2moro and a long time to spend at the airport again.

I cant wait to go home. Home sweet home. :)

MCQ & MEQ Down

Finished MCQ and MEQ.

Compared to the previous MEQ, I realized that i managed to get the diagnosis for all the questions right this time. (miraculously). But that doesn't mean I'm gonna score 100 or something because I left out the calculus word and chunks and pieces here and there and not the exact, precise diagnosis. But when i realize that i was thinking along the right diagnosis as i drew a new sheet from the envelope each time, i was really happy. But there's a lot i forgot also like the mechanisms, investigations, management and even LOOK, FEEL, MOVE! Crap. I just hope i can pass today's paper.

Today MEQ ques was :
1) Acute calculus cholecystitis
2) Esophagus carcinoma
3) Acute septic arthritis of the right knee
4) Threatened abortion
5) PPROM

Now have to prepare for the next few big parts. OSCE was never one of my fav anyway.

For now, take a nap 1st. I hope i can still rmb all the different heart and lung sounds. :)

Thud Thud Thud

Was in the midst of studying and i have this habitual habit to checked my email for 5 mins after studying for some time even though i might not have any new email but its like a habit especially when I'm stress.

So, i saw this new email from F that informed us that for the Grand Finale of the Watsons YOU Awards (which is 19th July btw, all welcome to support me or watch! haha), aside from the cat walks, we have to put up a grp performance (like how to practice the performance? we are all over Malaysia!!) and there will be some Q &A session by the judges.

So hard to win one this competition. So many challenges. But I'm not giving up, im far from giving up. I want to win this I want to win!! hahaha.. I mean im nervous like crap. Even now itself I dno why suddenly i can feel palpitation and rapid increase in heart rate. If you take my BP now, im sure it is increased too.

Like my exam in another 1 day is insufficient to make me already nervous. I think my heart will go *thudthudthudthudthuthudthud......* for the rest of the mth until 19th July. Maybe i will get fibrillation by then, literally! :p

And have to think of what to wear also because marks will also be given on the suitability of attire. *headache*.  Why cant they just find sponsors for our clothes?

I know alot of my friends are studying very hard right now. Gambate. 1 more day!

*thudthudthudthudthudthudthudthudthudthudthud....* (i think i will suffer insomnia due to all this, can i say, excitement plus nervousness plus stress?)

PS : To vote for me, now Mozilla is functional too. Watsons have fix the word verification problem! Yay :D. Continue voting for me k! Thank you :)

PPS : Sunday is Father's Day. But it's also the 1st day of my exam.. gosh.. i noe what is the best gift to my dad! Dad, i will do my best! I nd to persevere and CONCENTRATE right now!
